Noah Avary Flaharty
The phrase "a passion for music" doesn't quite cut it.
Noah has been performing since his early childhood. His earliest musical memory includes crying during the first drum lesson at 9 years of age. The thought of hitting the drums with the intention of creating sound and showing expression was something that he thought wasn't possible with a percussive instrument. Melodic instruments seemed like a much more applicable tool for creating musical expression. That way of thought changed once Noah attended college at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in the fall of 2014.

Noah received his BA in Commercial Music at Kutztown University with a minor in Audio Engineering. During his time at KU, Flaharty participated in multiple performing ensembles including the Kutztown University Orchestra, Jazz Ensembles, Rock Ensembles, and a number of concert and African percussion ensembles. Noah received a DownBeat Magazine Student Music Award in 2018 with the Rock Ensemble at Kutztown, the second consecutive win for the band in that category.

At Kutztown, Noah primarily studied under Dr. Frank Kumor, Professor John Riley, and Dr. Kevin Kjos. These great teachers helped Noah realize that drums can be the strongest tool of expression when yielded by the right musician. Since this change in philosophy, Noah has been putting his knowledge of musical expression to work in Philadelphia, where he now lives.

The phrase "a passion for music" doesn't quite cut it. The real passion lies in his love for self exploration and expression through music and the visual arts. A lifetime of music is what he pursues, indulging his insatiable hunger for knowledge and experience in his crafts.
